The BIG first for Obukuumi!

Helen's Mom was supposed to come to get her on Friday, but her older daughter, 5 yr old Shamina, fell sick and she wasn't able to make it.  She showed up this morning as I was working on some other things for the program.  It caught me off guard when someone came upstairs and shouted, "Helen's Mom is here".  I quickly gathered Helen's file and went downstairs and greeted Hadijja.  Mama Agatha, Hadijja, and myself walked over to the probation office.  We waited to meet with the probation officer.  Hadijja  answered some questions, and we introduced the sponsorship program.  He wrote up, signed, and stamped a document releasing Helen into the care of her Mother.  We sent Helen home with a new mosquito net, a foam mattress, clothes, an extra pair of shoes, and the first month's sponsorship.

We are excited that things have actually started up with Obukuumi.
Keep praying, as we will be checking in with Hadijja in two weeks to see how Helen is adjusting.  Be praying as we attempt to get a hold of relatives, meet with them, and are planning for these kids to go home.  Thank you for your support, pass this along to anyone you think would be interested in sponsoring one of our kids.

For I am the LORD, your God,
       who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear;
       I will help you.
