We Want...

Kelsey and I have a shared dream.
We want to have our feet covered in dirt every day. We want to eat rice and beans. We want to ride on the back of motorcycles with men we don’t know. We want to be pooped, peed, barfed, or snotted on. We want to be hot. We want to take cold showers. We want to lose electricity randomly. We want to have spotty internet. We want to cram into crowded vans with strangers when we need to go somewhere far. We want to walk down the street and get yelled at because we’re white. We want to share the street with goats and cows. We want sunburns.
Want to know why? Because…
We want to hold precious babies every day. We want our hands to always be full of their hands. We want our shoulders to hold their tears. We want our eyes to see their joy. We want our hearts to hold their love. We want to have our brains full of their names and stories. We want to be with our precious babies again. We want mothers, father, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, and friends to have a chance to take their children HOME.
In less than 24 hours Kelsey is boarding a plane back to Uganda and I am being left behind. My heart aches to be with these precious kiddos too but I am over joyed that Kelsey gets to live out that dream. As you know I will be running Obukuumi state side which means getting sponsors, handling money, and fundraising. A huge thank you to everyone who has already donated money! Kelsey was so blessed to be funded for her personal expenses for the year AND have startup money in the bank! Our God is incredibly faithful.
Please keep Kelsey in your prayers as she travels and as Obukuumi get rolling!

  1. Kels and Meg - Love is an amazing thing when God is working through you! - I am touched by your love, inspired by your sacrifice, and moved by your compassion for the children of uganda and their families

"We are HIS workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." Eph. 2:10

WALK in the power of His strength and grace! He has told you, O man, what is good; And what the LORD requries of you- But to do justice, to love mercy, and walk humbly with your GOD. Micah 6:8

Love you both and I will love watching and praying for you, the families, the children and the OBUKUUMI Ministry!
